If Congress were to increase the H-1B cap to 195,000 visas, the US government would receive an additional $2 billion of tax revenue each year. Though such notions have been prevalent for years, there is no change in the situation. Now fueled by sinking economy and bailout in trillions, the fed needs some way to refill its treasury through taxes, which is otherwise not possible because of Obama’s promise to cut-down on the taxes of nearly 80% of the US citizens.

H1B
Recently there has been much speculation about increasing benefits with regard to H1B. Though Obama went hard on the US corps hiring people through H1B visas and eventually the Congress barring bailed-out companies from hiring pros through this quota, things seem to get a little better with certain Congressmen realizing that ‘Increasing the H1B cap will steal American jobs’ is a myth.

Further there are reports that, foreign PhD holders and pursuers will be exempted form the H1B cap and will be given green card directly. This move to encourage the skilled doctrates to stay in US, who are presently facing difficulty in finding jobs.

Get The Boot
First the 'honorable' former US Pres get the boot during a visit to Iraq, then the Chinese PM at Cambridge University, Israeli Ambassador in Sweden, Iranian Pres in Iran and finally our FM-cum-HM Chidambaram. Its coincidence that all managed to dodge the boot hurled at them. This frenzy of expressing their discontent has become popular that the hurlers are being felicitated in each instance. I guess in future , all the journalists will be asked to come bare foot to the press-conferences :D
