If Congress were to increase the H-1B cap to 195,000 visas, the US government would receive an additional $2 billion of tax revenue each year. Though such notions have been prevalent for years, there is no change in the situation. Now fueled by sinking economy and bailout in trillions, the fed needs some way to refill its treasury through taxes, which is otherwise not possible because of Obama’s promise to cut-down on the taxes of nearly 80% of the US citizens.

H1B
Recently there has been much speculation about increasing benefits with regard to H1B. Though Obama went hard on the US corps hiring people through H1B visas and eventually the Congress barring bailed-out companies from hiring pros through this quota, things seem to get a little better with certain Congressmen realizing that ‘Increasing the H1B cap will steal American jobs’ is a myth.

Further there are reports that, foreign PhD holders and pursuers will be exempted form the H1B cap and will be given green card directly. This move to encourage the skilled doctrates to stay in US, who are presently facing difficulty in finding jobs.

Get The Boot
First the 'honorable' former US Pres get the boot during a visit to Iraq, then the Chinese PM at Cambridge University, Israeli Ambassador in Sweden, Iranian Pres in Iran and finally our FM-cum-HM Chidambaram. Its coincidence that all managed to dodge the boot hurled at them. This frenzy of expressing their discontent has become popular that the hurlers are being felicitated in each instance. I guess in future , all the journalists will be asked to come bare foot to the press-conferences :D

Intelligence agencies blame game - Who's life is at stake?
Another excerpt from "The Times Of India" on 1-Dec-'08
Threat to planes on Babri anniversary; More terrorists holed up in Mumbai planning a backlash... Has the govt learnt a lesson? Even a child learns not to near fire after getting burnt once, but doesnt seem to be the case with our adult politic morons. What are they waiting for?
R.R.Patil resigns, Shivraj Patil steps down, Vilasrao Deshmukh bows under pressure, so does end dawns on NSA, RAW chief and IB chief. More heads to roll, is this what Indians need as an answer to the tragedy? Shivraj Patil has taken moral responsibility for the security lapse and he retires to his home. Thats it ? Disgusting. A very sensitive question that why he and his directs failed to protect Mumbai ends up with such a subtle statement when scores have been massacred and injured.
Enough is enough. We have endured the actions of the govt ( for the matter of fact not only the present govt but any such shit-pile forming a govt) during the past years, since the sewage of politics is nauseating to clean up. But now when our life are endangered, other plethora of problems emanating from our govt seem to be superficial.
The gravity of the situation is evident form the outrage of the Indian citizens (even the media in large scale) who are demanding a change in the administration. The citizens of the US have shown, in fact proven their intent to bring up a change which is exemplary and NOW INDIA AWAITS THE SAME. Join the revolution.
- Sept: IB told National Security Council that Taj hotel could be terror target
- Nov 12: another IB advisory warned of terrorists planning to come through sea
- Nov 18: RAW intercepted a sat phone conversation of Muzammil, the head of Lashkar’s India operations, saying the cargo was on its way. Next day, RAW passed on the information to NSC, Navy, Coast Guard. Even fishermen’s union had warned authorities that ‘RDX’ was coming from Pak to Gujarat coast Navy

The new Home Minister has to act
Ghosh!! Foremost accolades to The Times Of India for coming up with this [1-Dec-'08] front-page hard-hitting liners pointing at the actions to be taken by our new Home Minister Mr.P.Chidambaram. Truely commendable article, it still eludes me that how come these below listed issues have gone un-addressed until the time of real-emergency.
Here goes the 10 pointers
1 Create unified command for Navy, Coast Guard and Coastal Police. At present they virtually don't talk to each other. Create 3-ring security: Navy guarding high seas, Coast Guard coastal water & Coastal Police shoreline.
2 Ask for special Parliament session to create anti-terror federal agency, insulated from political interference. Telecast session live so people get to see which self-serving neta opposes it.
3 Even before the session starts, smash all turf walls between intel agencies so information flows among them. Empower NSC and Joint Intelligence Agency to make them effective coordinators among agencies.
4 Set up NSG units in all major cities. The kind of delay seen in NSG reaching Mumbai this time just won't do. Give NSG central command 2 planes for speedy movement of additional commandos.
5 Review VIP security. Too many leaders without any real risk have wangled cover to strut around and flaunt their ‘status'. Free policemen on such work so that they can protect the public.
6 Create effective emergency infrastructure and disaster relief mechanism that swings into action within seconds, not after precious hours.
7 Enhance training of intel forces to nip terror attacks at the planning stage. Make the agencies professional, allow lateral entry of best talent. Make the job attractive so that it's not seen as a punishment posting.
8 Ram through long-pending police reforms to ensure politicians don't influence police appointments. Provide security of tenure to officers. This will motivate our police to work unhindered.
9 Step up recruitment of policemen, fill in vacancies right now. India has one of the lowest ratios of policemen per thousand people — it's worse than even Nepal's. Make the police an attractive career option for good people.
10 Above all, recognise we are facing a new, dangerously sophisticated enemy. Widen mega city policing plan and modernise the force. Provide them training, latest weapons and equipment, including helicopter wings. They should not be outgunned and out-thought by AK-47-toting terrorists.

Indian Govt Is Pathetic - Who Deserves More ?
This is my first blog against my series of blogs depicting the pathetic condition of our govt.
1.Do not worry about those who have come thru boats...
Our forces can easily defeat them.
WORRY about those who have come thru votes....
Those are our REAL ENEMIES….
2.What a shame and disgrace to every citizen of India that the elite NSG Force was transported into ordinary BEST buses, whereas our cricketers are transported into state of the art luxury buses, these Jawans lay down their lives to protect every Indian and these cricketers get paid even if they lose a match, we worship these cricketers and forget the martyrdom of these brave Jawans. The Jawans should be paid the salaries of the cricketers and the cricketers should be paid the salaries of the Jawans.
No pun intentded, the example of cricketers is taken since they are more influential than any other group of ppl and are even treated as Gods ! Argh !!
3.An ace shooter shoots and gets gold medal, govt gives 1cr, another shooter dies while shooting terrorist, govt gives 5 lakh.
WHO DESERVES MORE? Huh.. This is our India....
